production meeting 21/02/2017

After a week break, we have had a good look at the work that has been done, for the progression of the final product.

Dan has now taken his character designs from photoshop and is recreating them via illustrator and once done will be using a piece of software known as spine to animate the limbs ready for movement.

Jamie is doing a similar process starting today, where he is taking the blocks of the environment and retracing them through illustrator.

The reason behind this is due to different size screen resolutions the sprites that are created using photoshop may become stretched or blurred due to the different size ratios and this will not happen in illustrator as the programme creates vector based images.

As for myself I am still creating the settings menu due to technical difficulties, though the designs have been completed on paper and will be posted by tomorrow, as for now I am only editing the colour pallet so that the menu fits the game and doesnt look out of place.

Liam has not shown up once again, and any work he claims to have done remains to be seen, as a team we have decided that I have to take on the coding, once the settings menu has been complete, as for myself I am not entirely confident when coding but Jamie and Dan are also going to help with the workload in order for us to meet the deadline in the next couple of months.

Note Taker: Sean Davies

During this meeting we discussed the team’s first steps into the production of our final product

Jobs have been dealt out to be completed by the 17th January , the original completion date would have been the 10th January, although due to other upcoming deadlines the deadline for this first step has been extended.

  • Sean Davies: Start finalising button designs for menus, using illustrator, as well as keeping track of the progress of team mates

  • Jamie Ashbolt: Start making a mock up of the environment as a base to be used, make any additional research if required and post findings
